Ooops

Ooops is a public space interactive sculpture. 150 soccer balls are kicked by the artist onto a tree until all the balls will be stuck on it.

Ooops constitutes a ‘disruption moment’ in which the rules of a common playground game are broken by a small incident: a ball gets stuck onto a tree.
Evoking childish and commonly shared memories this sculpture celebrates the rupture of a scheme behaviour and underlines the importance of forcing creativity. The balls, signed and numbered, are first used as readymade and then they are, little by little, losing their symbolic and aesthetic characteristics falling onto the ground. It is the passing of time, with its  natural events and changing of the seasons that lets the ball fall down, thus giving the sculpture a living essence. The fallen balls will be relocated into their normal use and they will be taken and used by passer-bys.
